Weight of the World
Mega Man exists in a multitude of incarnations but it is the simplest, 8-bit, version that captured the hearts of his biggest fans. The storyline was, and has remained, equally simple; but if we dig a little deeper we find a story more akin to a Philip K. Dick novel than an early video game. An android, intended as nothing more than a lab assistant, is modified to destroy a series of robots who are holding a city hostage. Here we see our hero reflecting on what he has become and what he has been asked to do.
